2009-2010 SPECIAL NEEDS TEAM

SEPTEMBER 2009 - MARCH 2010 The 2009-2010 Cheer Season will be Class Act's first year to offer a cheer team for individuals with special needs. The team(s) will be comprised of a maximum of 10 area students per team ages 5 to 20 years of age. We have witnessed MANY special needs teams performing at various competition events in which we have attended, and the effort these athletes put into their performances and the excitement they exert when they perform is contagious. We want to give that opportunity to other special needs students in OUR area!
Our Special Needs team (s) will be coached by many volunteers from Class Act's coaching staff, parents and elite cheerleaders. These athletes will not only improve their skills physically, but socially and emotionally. Belonging to a team, having responsibility and enjoying friendships prove to be just as important to the athletes and their families as the cheering itself. CHEER FOR A CURE 2010

*Does everyone “make” the team?
You bet! Everyone can succeed at cheer leading. We will have athletes with many different disabilities. All will be able to participate at their own level!
*What if my special needs athlete can’t tumble?
We will work with each athlete to develop their own level of cheer and tumbling skills. All we ask is a willingness to learn, follow directions, have a positive attitude, and maintain good attendance.
If you are interested in having your child be a part of this program, call us 419-789-1021 or email us at:
COST
*What kind of financial commitment is involved in joining the team?
Tuition for this 1st season will be FREE! That's right! In order to promote our special needs teams, and get kids involved, we have a completely volunteer staff coaching the teams this year! The Stage Wright Performance Center has donated the practice space which will allow us to offer this special 1st year opportunity!!
There will be no competition fees, as we will compete only at competitions that offer competing FREE for special needs teams.
There will be a small cost for uniforms and shoes. More information will be available upon registration for the team.
