PARTICIPATION RULES & GUIDELINES

DESCRIPTION & PURPOSE

CLASS ACT is a branch of STAGE WRIGHT THEATRE School of Performing Arts, which offers various performing arts classes and private lessons in Northwest Ohio.  The purpose of STAGE WRIGHT’S CLASS ACT is to give each participant the chance to explore competitive cheerleading, pom dance and/or tumbling, to assist he/she in improving their abilities and coordination skills, to give he/she the opportunity to perform their skills to the public and at competitions, and to teach teamwork, team spirit, and good sportsmanship conduct.

ENROLLMENT

Enrollment is open to all students ages 3-18 years (unless instructor recommends otherwise) for all-star cheerleading, pom dance and tumbling classes.  There are NO geographical boundaries.  Once a participant begins classes, he/she is enrolled for the season.  Cheer seasons run June – April.  Pom Dance seasons run September – July.  Private lessons and tumbling classes are also available for those wishing/needing additional tumbling instruction and/or one on one instruction (when available).  Private lessons and tumbling classes have continuous enrollment at the start of each month.

PERFORMANCES & COMPETITIONS

The team participants will be publicly performing throughout the season at various locations within the community.  We feel it is important for the participants to share their talents with the community and practice their skills through these performances.  It is likely that some public performances will require an admission fee for parents/family to get into the event.  The teams will compete in local, regional, state and national competitions for which there are entry fees for participation.  Parents/Viewers are also charged an admission fee at each competition event.  Participants have the opportunity to raise funds each year to assist in paying for competition entry fees and other expenses if so desired.  Stage Wright Theatre and its staff have no liability or obligation to the fundraising efforts.

ATTENDANCE

We are dedicated to excellence and teaching teamwork and responsibility.  It is crucial that each participant attend practices on a regular basis for the team’s (as well as the participant’s) benefit.  If a participant misses excessive practices or simply does not show up for a performance or competition without notice, it is at the discretion of the coach to ask a participant to leave the team.  If asked to leave the team during the season, NO refunds will be given to that participant, and that month’s tuition must be paid in full at the time of drop out, along with any late fees that may have accumulated.

COST

A season tuition is announced during enrollment for the season and can be divided into monthly installments for payment.  Team tuition rates will not change during the season for any reason.  If tuition is paid in monthly installments, it will be due before the 1st day of each month.  A $5.00 late charge will be added for each week in which tuition is late.  An additional $20 fee will be added if tuition is more than 2 weeks late.  Additional registration fees will apply at the beginning of the season to cover administrative and equipment costs. Parents are responsible for the cost of all uniforms, accessories and competition costs for their child throughout the season.  The choice of team uniforms and accessories is at the coach’s discretion.

ALL EXPENSES PAID TO STAGE WRIGHT THEATRE ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

GREIVANCE PROCEDURES

STAGE WRIGHT’S CLASS ACT strives to provide quality performing arts training to all its participants and prides itself on equal and fair treatment to all participants and parents, without discrimination.  If, at any time, you have a concern, please contact Kimberly Wright immediately to remedy the situation.  We expect that all participants and their parents will respect, support and encourage each other as a team.
